Background
Mikrotik routers are used as guest Wi-Fi gateway devices which are installed between ISP router(s) and hotel network infrastructure to deliver a single point for control and experience management of guest Wi-Fi networks. The product range offers a low cost, flexible, high performance gateway solution by connecting guest wireless devices to cloud authentication service which delivers the same guest experience across all Accor hotels.
Implementation in Accor Wi-Fi for ALL Program
Upon completion of the contract with Airangel, the Local Service Provider (LSP) identifies which sites will require a Mikrotik and initiates the purchase process to ensure that the deployment of the Wi-Fi for ALL program remains on the Accor customer’s timeline.
Mikrotik gateways are required to be deployed in following scenarios:
- Hotels that do not have supported Wi-Fi infrastructure with Aruba Central or Cisco Meraki
- Luxury/Premium brand hotels
- Hotels that require advanced features, such as Conference tool
If unsure, reach out to your Airangel Customer Success contact who can consult on whether a Mikrotik is needed for a specific hotel.
In parallel, Airangel will provide training to the LSP which includes detailed technical training on Mikrotik configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
