Accor Captivnet Lite Configuration - Meraki Cloud

Background

This document provides details of the configuration of the Meraki dashboard for a Captivnet Lite solution. It does not include any other aspects of the access point configuration, which are the responsibility of the LAN partner.

Configuration areas included:


  • network security authentication method

  • walled garden settings

  • RADIUS server settings & failover policy

  • Client VLAN settings

  • Splash page redirection settings

  • Session logging (Lawful intercept)


NOTE: RADIUS Accounting must be turned on by Meraki TAC before configuration commences.

Log in to the Meraki dashboard via a web browser (https://dashboard.meraki.com)

Select the dashboard Network that corresponds to the site to be configured

Configure the new SSID’s name and enable it. Wireless > SSIDs. Once finished, click Save Changes.

Go to Wireless > Configuration > Access Control. Use the dropdown and choose the new SSID.

Security: “Open (no encryption)”.

Splash page: Choose “Sign-on with” and from the dropdown choose “my RADIUS Server”.

Open the “Advanced splash settings” section

Add entries for Captivnet & Accor destinations (verify this list at the time of installation):

- eu.wifiportal.io
- media.eu.wifiportal.io
- accor.com
- api.accor.com
- login.accor.com
- all.accor.com
- frontend01.qconnect.fr

Open the “RADIUS” section: (Remember RADIUS accounting must be enabled by TAC first)

Add domain RADIUS authentication servers (IP & port numbers may not be correct, verify at time of installation)

Add domain RADIUS accounting servers (IP & port numbers may not be correct, verify at time of installation)

Set failover policy to “Allow Access”

Open the “Client IP and VLAN” section

Select “External DHCP server assigned” (ensure “Bridged” is selected)

Enable “VLAN tagging”: VLAN ID

Add the VLAN ID of guest traffic (VLAN ID will be site-specific). Once finished click Save Changes.

Wireless > Configure > Splash Page

Select “Custom splash URL”

Enter the Captivnet URL (verify this is correct at time of installation). Once finished, click on Save Changes.

Network Wide > General > Reporting

Enter lawful intercept server IP & port (destination IP address & port TBA, do not use value shown in graphic)

Select “Flows” from available roles.
